Aylesbury Women’s Aid are offering facilitator training for the Freedom Programme from the 20th – 22nd March from 10am – 4pm each day.
The Freedom Programme is an 11-week domestic abuse programme created by Pat Craven. It examines how attitudes and beliefs inform the actions of abusive men and the responses of victims and survivors.
This training enables participants to deliver the Freedom Programme and is aimed at those working in statutory or voluntary agencies.
The training will allow agencies to:
- Enable individuals to deliver the programme in a group setting or in individual practice.
- Help women recognise the beliefs held by abusive men and to recognise which beliefs they have shared.
- Assist women to recognise future abusers.
- Help women to understand the effects of Domestic Abuse on children.
The cost is £250.00 per person. This includes refreshments and training materials. Participants will need to provide their own lunch.
Training may be provided at a reduced cost for individuals who are willing to co-facilitate the Freedom Programme in Buckinghamshire as a volunteer for Aylesbury Women's Aid. Please contact April Benson using the details above to discuss this option prior to booking.
The training will be held in Aylesbury Town Centre.
